National Child Awareness Month: Become A Part Of History Today
Festival of Children Foundation is spearheading an effort to have September declared National Child Awareness Month. It is our vision to turn National Child Awareness Month into a month-long public awareness initiative that focuses the attention of the Nation on the issues facing children across America.  H.Res. 1296 was introduced on June 24, 2008, asking Congress to declare September National Child Awareness Month, with sponsors including Congressman Ken Calvert (R-CA) and Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez (D-CA).  Before the bill is presented to the Education and Labor Committee of the House of Representatives, you have the opportunity to ask local legislators to sign on as co-sponsors of the bill to ensure H.Res.1296 is passed.  Read the full story.
